References
Rabicano Coloring in Quarter Horses Commonly confused with roaning, the rabicano gene produces a phenotype with distinctive white markings, from as basic as striping of white hairs at the base of the tail, known as a “skunk” or “coon” tail, shown to the left, to extensive white ticking on the elbows, flanks, and in vertical “stripes” on the ribcage. Rabicano is noted as a marking rather than a color on AQHA registration. The 2012 AQHA stallion Spooker Bowl serves as a lovely example of rabicano coloring on a bay. Source: Link
