The Abtenauer is a small draft horse breed originating in the Abtenau Valley in Austria.
• Influenced by the Noriker breed
• 14.2 - 15.1hh and approximately 1100lbs. on average
• Most commonly black, but also come in chestnut, gray, and roan
• Known to have a low center of gravity with thick, powerful legs often with light feathering
* Most often used as agriculture or riding horses, being surefooted and strong in rough mountainous terrain
