Felin development began originally by cross-breeding Konik horses, Hucul horses and Shetland ponies, and later introduced Welsh Pony, Malopolski and Arabian into the program. Conformation varies, but they should be compact with strong bones, a good temperament, and should be level and comfortable to ride.
