- PHOTO REF IN ALT IMAGES. The Spotted Saddle Horse is an American breed developed by crossing Spanish pinto ponies with gaited American breeds, such as the Tennessee Walking Horse and later Spanish gaited breeds such as the Paso Fino and the Peruvian Paso. Conformationally they are a tall breed with a refined straight or convex facial profile. The neck is muscular with a slight arch with long, sloping shoulders. The breed should overall be thicker and more muscular than most American Gaited breeds and pinto coloration is required. The Spanish Jennet Horse, also known as the Pinto Paso or Paso Tiger Horse, is a modern reflection of the extinct Jennet. They may have pinto patterning or Leopard spots. The head is medium in size with a typically Spanish profile with large, well-spaced eyes. The neck should be well-arched and medium in length. The chest is deep with a strong back of medium length, with broad and well-muscled loin.
