The head should be bold with a moderately sized neck and well-set eyes, while ears tend to be large and fine. Forelimbs should be strong and well-muscled, with sound, proportionate feet. Deep chests and wide hindquarters indicate strength and vitality. Hind legs should be well-muscled with correctly angled hocks, providing driving power without fullness or swelling. Movement should be even and coordinated, with no hint of pacing or ambling, featuring good suspension and extension in trotting and a measured, powerful canter. These horses ideally carry the leopard complex to produce traditional 'appaloosa' patterning, but if a horse meets or exceeds breed standards without coloration, it will still be approved.
