"Exotic" foals

Friday, April 22, 2022 10:17 AM

I am judging a class that does have Longear babies, but also has a plethora of Unicorns, there is no foal class for fantasy just a division for fantasy. Do I judge per usual (ABC's and basic photography skills) or are they DQ'ed as they should be in their respective fantasy class along with adults?

Thanks for any advice

As I'm also a judge for that show, I took a peek at what you mean and I think you have judged them correctly. :)

I think it depends on how the show host set up the classes/divisions, etc. If the show host has allowed fantasy-type foals to show in the same class as longear foals, then all should be judged accordingly. However, there's no breed standard for unicorns, so I guess it's up to the judge's discretion whether to place these fantasy-type foals or not.

Did you try contacting the show host for clarification?

This was for the OMHPS 1st Birthday show which was concluded. :) It was judged and the problems clarified. The unicorns were left alone. This is just an old thread that resurfaced. :)

Thank you!
