Saturday, April 16, 2022 10:19 AM

GENERAL INFORMATION

A FREE show just for THOROUGHBREDS in most brands, scales and finishes.

Show opens April 18 and closes May 2, 2022 - open for two weeks. Please note you won’t be able to enter classes until registration opens on April 18.

This is an all halter show – no tack or riders, unless molded on or permanently attached. If you show Thoroughbred model ornaments (not globe or 2D style) or release types (such as Hands Down) they are welcome in appropriate scale/finish classes.

Each model may enter 1 class in each of 3 divisions-GENDER, WORKMANSHIP, and ACTION (pose type).

Each exhibitor may enter up to 5 different models in each class. Classes are limited to 100 entries each.

Any background is acceptable.

Standard OMHPS ribbons awarded to 10th Place. Standard OMHPS Section Champions and Reserves and Division Champions and Reserves awards.

DIVISIONS/SECTIONS/CLASSES INFO

GENDER DIVISION

Five sections by size and finish, classes by gender/age. There are specific classes for foals up to yearling age. Foals are welcome to enter all classes in the two other divisions.

WORKMANSHIP DIVISION

Two sections - Solid and Patterned coat colors. All finishes and sizes. Similar to a standard “Workmanship” division but class structure includes most common allowable colors/patterns seen in the Thoroughbred breed. Some color classes are offered in light shades, dark shades, etc. A model with any other allowable color or pattern without a specific class can go in the “All Other Solid” or “All Other Patterned” classes. (For this show, roans will go in the Patterned Section.) Detailed documentation is highly recommended for unusual colors or patterns. (For this division the Workmanship tab will need to be filled out for the model.)

ACTION DIVISION

Something a little different. Two sections by size, classes by pose type. Halter classes where models are judged according to pose types such as stand, walk, prance, trot, jump, etc. Models will be judged on conformation/suitability to breed standards, suitability to class and/or use, physical mechanics, condition, workmanship, and photo dynamics which include (1.) In-focus, close-up shot of the subject taken from side, (2.) good light on model, (3.) model in show condition, dust and hair free, (4.) non-distracting background with minimal shadows.

SPECIAL NOTE

You can include additional specifics in your Thoroughbred's description that explains his type, for instance ‘hunter type,’ or ‘sprint type.’ Here are two general references:
