Help Please: Barely Bite Sized Entries

Sunday, April 18, 2021 2:58 PM

Hi! I hope I am just making some silly error, but I was verifying my micro entries to this show, and found something odd with three of the Barely Bite Sized AR Breed Classes: Draft, European Draft; Stock, Other Stock Mix; and Pony; British Pony. I entered my horses last week, but when I went today through the OMHPS home page (Tool Bar - Shows, Shows, User Hosted Shows, Barely Bite Sized) six horses were not listed as being entered in the show.

I checked each horses' individual page, all horses are listed as entered into Barely Bite Sized. If I click on the links for the show, they appear in the class as they should. An interesting note, the class entries look different depending on how you get to them: if accessed through the horses' own page, the classes are much smaller. But if I go back again though the OMHPS home page, (tool bar-shows, shows, user hosted shows, Barely Bite Sized, AR Breed Classes) then to the specific classes, they are NOT there, and there are more entries in the class. I went back and forth several times, making sure they are listed as ARs and at 1:64 scale, and their breeds.

Draft, European: Monty and Billy Boy (they should be ok now, I reentered these two and deleted the old entries as they then showed up as entered twice in the same show/class on the horses' page)

Stock, Other/Mix: Texas Twister and Twist and Burn

Pony, British: Jeeves and Maxwell

I left these Stock and Pony entries as is so someone can check and see if I am hallucinating. I can go back and re-enter them if need be.

My other 14 entries in AR Breed show up as they should.

Thank you! I really appreciate the amount of work that has been done to create this site. Oh, Windows 10, Chrome.

Hey Prisma! I'm the show runner! We had to reset a few classes because people were putting ARs in the customs classes after a glitch allowed it. I believe I remember seeing a few of your ARs in the custom classes instead of the ARs. Try going back in and readding them to the correct classes, and let me know if you are still having issues!

I think this may actually be something else, as this is indeed very strange since both "classes" are the same in division, section, and name. Every horse in both classes are ARs as far as I can tell. I checked myself both in the way you looked at them (via Shows) as well as on the back end in the judging panel, and they weren't there, but are through the horse's page. Looking at the class IDs (the long string of numbers and letters in the URL), they are different, so they are actually "two" separate classes on the back end but only showing up as one under the show.

Definitely some sort of bug, and not one we've encountered before. I have notified the programmer and he'll be looking into it ASAP. You can retract and re-enter all your horses, it looks like that is fixing them for now, but we will also be fixing it on the back end as not everyone may see this and we want to be sure everyone's entries are actually in the show when it comes time for judging.

Thank you so much for noticing this and alerting us!

Just to update real quick, we think we may have found the issue with this particular division and why it happened, and we're working on fixing it. Just seems to be an AR breed thing.

Thank you both so much!

I did retract and reenter the AR Pony/British Ponies, but the problem isn't fixed. It did fix the AR Stock/Mix.

I am finding this in even more Bite Sized classes (AR Workmanship- Pattern- Stripes; Wee Willy) and (AR Workmanship Patterns/Multiple Expression; Starina). I also can't enter several horses at all: an AR Irish Cob (The Mighy Quinn); an CM Australian Stock Horse (Mach One), and a CM Arabian (Akeem). I don't want to just reenter them in any "eligible class", as I got disqualified a couple of times for just picking the most likely fit.

I'll give this a few days for your programmer wizards to look at it. Again, I appreciate all the work to make this platform happen!

Yes, we just discovered that as well. For the Bite Sized show specifically, it is in AR Breed and AR Workmanship. None of the other divisions are affected and this is the only show with this problem. The reason is that when we edited the show to fix another glitch before it ever opened for entries, we deleted the buggy AR Breed and AR Workmanship divisions and replaced them with the proper ones that are there now. They appear deleted in the show's page, the judge panel, and everywhere else. All seemed well.

Turns out they weren't actually deleted and were lurking around in the back end still. Because of this, they still showed up when people used the See Eligible Classes button, despite not really being there anymore. Luckily, most entrants are in the right classes and the ones that aren't can be moved to the correct ones, which we're doing now. Somehow, this particular show has managed to find some unique bugs no other shows have! Coding sure loves to throw random curveballs at us, at least we got to the bottom of this one and can fix it fairly quickly.

That makes so much sense to what I was seeing! You're awesome for helping us out with this. I kept going to a horse's page to see the class they were in and nothing was there, but I could see them from the judging feature.

Thank you so much for working on this! The show got really buggy because I posted it the exact day that the web hoster was throwing up error codes 😅

Thank you all for being so patient! The website owners and show holders have been trying to fix a lot of different glitches with this show 😅😅

Just an update, all horses should be in the correct classes. Luckily, out of the 800+ entries, less than 50 were in the "ghost" classes. They've been moved to the right places and all should be well and ready for judging in a few days! :)

Hi Celine! This particular show is closed for entries but you can check out all the current running shows on the Shows page. You can also see all the shows you can enter by clicking the "See classes" button on any of your horses' pages :) Shows that are open to anyone on the site don't require registration forms or anything, just enter any classes you'd like!
