"Model has changed since time of entry"

Tuesday, April 22, 2025 11:51 AM(I know that's not the exact wording. Something like it.)
If you've changed something about your horse, for example uploaded a new picture, and it is currently entered in a show, when the judge goes to judge it, there is a statement in red next to the entry saying it has been changed or altered.
It makes it look like there is something wrong with the entry. In fact, all that's happened is, for example, someone finally got a day free of wind and took a whole bunch of alternate pictures of their Stablemates and added them to those horses' records. The actual picture being shown may or may not have changed, in any case, it is still a legitimate picture of that horse.
An inexperienced judge can easily take this as meaning the system has flagged that entrant as having something hinky about it. Which is why I think I'm having a whole bunch of models DQ'd out of a specific show right now.
Is this notification necessary? Would it be possible to have it come up ONLY if the actual photo being shown has been switched out, to signal the judge to examine it again if they are in the process of looking at that class, or if the breed etc has changed so the horse is no longer eligible for the class? When an exhibitor has added a new alternate photo that has no actual impact on the specific entry, or let's say added a performance or something, could that stop triggering it?
Thanks!

Wednesday, April 23, 2025 4:21 AMThis is a good point and was certainly never the intention of the notification. I will discuss this with our programmer and see if we can come up with an easy solution, which for now may simply be removing it altogether or at least making the text no longer red and therefore giving the idea of an error/fault. The idea was that judges may want a heads up if they're coming back to a class they were already working on, or that a horse may no longer fit in that particular class if something like the breed was changed. It may be a bit more tricky to have the system only alert edits for specific things so for now I think the optimal way forward is just removal. Breeds/makes/etc. that don't fit classes already show up in red, so it is a bit redundant. I would hope most judges double-check their placings if they are returning to a class they've already been working on before concluding it, and then notice if a photo or similar has changed.

Yesterday, 4:11 PMI find that notation helpful because if I have stewarded everything and then I find a wildly inappropriate horse in a class, that notation effectively explains it for me and since I put more restrictions on my classes/shows than just "breed," I would not want it to only show up with breed/photo swapping. What would be AMAZING is if the message identified the changed field. But that would take some considerable work, I'm sure.
If show holders are taking this the wrong way, could I suggest as another purely rank and file user, that you confirm the reason for the DQ, and then direct the show holder to read this thread/Leah's post regarding the intention behind the notation? After that, I wouldn't expect the problem to happen again (or at least you would hope!).
