Method for getting pegs from stands out of models!

So about a month ago my EZ 2 Spot (Newsworthy mould) had the peg from his stand snap whilst it was in him as I was making a video with him. I'd heard of this happening with moulds like Totilas, Huckleberry Bey and Salinero, but never Newsworthy. I was very upset as I got him 2 years ago and he was my first Traditional model. Last night I asked my dad if he could help me get the peg out. I had tried bending a paperclip, putting it and wrenching the peg out but it didn't work. So my dad layed him down on a towel on our kitchen island, stuck his pocket knife in the peg and slowly and gently chipped away at the plastic until he'd created a hole in the peg that was around 3 or 4 millimeters wide. Then he went out to our garage, got a tiny screw and stuck it in the whole and pulled. It came out in one full piece! The only issue now is that he doesn't have a stand!
