EquusRuss's Horse
- Name
- Fun Surprise
- References
- #470 Misty's Twilight Produced 1991-1995 Groningen The Groningen is a breed of horse developed for pulling carriages and light draft work. It was one of the primary breeds used in the creation of the Dutch Warmblood, and, in fact, this greatly contributed to the near extinction of the breed. The Groningen is nearly always black or dark bay, but chestnut, Sabino, and Tobiano are seen on occasion. They have a rectangular build, muscular, high set neck, course head, and large hindquarters. Because of their breeding for carriage work, they have a particularly nice walk and trot, but less flashy canter.
