References
Spanish Jennet Once extremely popular during the renaissance era, the original Spanish Jennet has gone extinct. They were the predecessors to the modern Paso Fino and Peruvian Paso, so breeding of colorful Pasos is being used to re-create the Spanish Jennet. The Jennet started out as a larger type of horse, but more agile, smooth riding horses were desired so it became a midsized, gaited Horse that many modern Spanish breeds have derived from, including the Andalusian and Lusitano. Today they are gaited and always Appaloosa or pinto. They stand between 13.2 and 15.2 hands, have high set, medium-length, arched necks, large eyes, straight or slightly convex profiles, dry legs with large joints, and strong hooves.
