- References
- Shar-Peis originated in southern China and were bred to be a watchdog or property guardian. They have abundant wrinkles or folds in their skin, and a broad hippopotamus muzzle which creates a serene but powerful appearance. Apart from these unique traits, they also come in an interesting array of 18 standard and 3 non-standard (AKC) colors including red, five-point red, red sable, brown, apricot dilute, lilac dilute, cream, fawn, black, black sable and blue (to name a few).
