References
Dafydd’s colour was based off the Welsh D Stallion, ‘Danaway Flash Jack’. In type, his compact body and smaller, very pony type head, well represents the smaller section C, a type intended to be a more pony type version of the Welsh D or Welsh Cob — hence the term ‘Welsh Pony of Cob Type’. These Cob type Ponies were originally produced by crossing Welsh D’s and Welsh A’s (Welsh Mountain Ponies). Today, C’s are produced either through this same cross or through the crossing of other Welsh sections with Section C’s. Due to this the individuals within this type may be quite varied, just like their larger cob counterparts. Section C’s come in most colours and should not exceed 13.2hh. They have good legs, compact bodies with strong necks and large eyes.
