- Galileo's star dappled grey tobiano coat pattern was based on the famous Gypsy Vanner, Austin (see reference photo). The American Drum Horse breed is not bound to the Royal Crown’s preference of piebald and skewbald. The modern Drum Horses registered with the ADHA can be almost any color -- solid colored, roan, or pinto, which includes both the sabino and tobiano patterns. With use of the Gypsy Horse, Clydesdale, and Shire bloodlines in the Drum Horse breed, the sky is the limit when it comes to color.
