In the past, the AQHA limited registration to horses exceeding 14.2hh, and although this height restriction is no longer active, there remains a demand for smaller mounts bearing the same traits as the full-sized Quarter Horse. Quarter Ponies bear the same refined head and muscular body as the Quarter Horse and may be any solid color or pattern, including Appaloosa, overo, and tobiano, and must not exceed 14.2hh.
