The Canadian Horse descends from the French stock Louis XIV sent to Canada in the late 17th century. These horses were likely Andalusians, Barbs, Arabians, Bretans, and other breeds. TheCanadian horse is famous for its ability to thrive in harsh conditions and is often called the Little Iron Horse. They have fine bone heads, arched necks, wavy manes and tails, and well muscled hindquarters. They are known for their jumping ability and used in every discipline. They are typically black, bay, or brown but can also be Chestnut, flaxen Chestnut, and dilute.
