Dutch Warmblood A relatively modern breed, the Dutch Warmblood is the result of combining two native Dutch Breeds, the Gelderlander and the Groningen. Added refinement was introduced with some Thoroughbred, Oldenburg, and Hanoverian blood to produce a unique breed of Dutch sport horse. Dutch Warmbloods stand 16 to 17hh and are predominantly bay and chestnut, commonly accented with numerous white markings, but can also be seen in gray and black. Within the Dutch Warmblood breed, three types are recognized; the sport horse type, the harness type, and the light draft type. This stallion is an example of the athletic sport horse type of Dutch Warmblood. This type exhibits sloping shoulders for a ground-eating stride, a deep chest and girth, and well-muscled limbs with low hocks for propulsion and scope. Source: Link
