- The Walkaloosa Horse The Walkaloosa Horse combines the flashy coloring of the Appaloosa with the comfortable, easy riding paces found in gaited breeds. To become a registered Walkaloosa, a horse must exhibit an Appaloosa color pattern and demonstrate, to a professional trainer or veterinarian, the ability to perform an intermediate gait other than a trot; rack, running walk, foxtrot, etc. The horse must also be the progeny of a registered Walkaloosa stallion and mare or of registered Appaloosa and/or gaited horse blood. As their contributing genetics can vary, these horses can vary in appearance. This example is a Walkaloosa with a strong Tennessee Walking Horse influence. Source: Link
