References
Perlino Coloring in Quarter Horses Perlino coloring is the phenotype of a horse with a double dilution of the cream gene on the bay gene. The bay gene singly diluted with the incompletely dominant cream gene results in a buckskin, and this phenotype of a light body color with darker points also is shown with the double dilution of the cream gene. A perlino horse will have a pale cream haircoat and darker, sometimes almost orange-ish hued points and mane and tail. Some examples of Quarter Horses showing the rare perlino coloring include Shiners Bright Spark, The Keo Kid, and Invest in Rodeo. Sources: Link Link
