This combination tends to yield an ideal sport horse for both riding and driving disciplines. They stand an average of 15 to 16 hands and have a compact body type, deep chest, open shoulder, high set neck, expressive face, thick manes and tails, and lighter bone than a purebred Friesian. Black is the most common color, but all colors are recognized.
