Non-Dun1 (nd1) is a recessive gene that exhibits a dorsal stripe that doesn’t extend down the tail and ends at the tailhead. It also does not dilute the body color like what the Dominant Dun gene does. Due to being a recessive gene, it is found in a vast variety of breeds that normally don’t actually have the Dominant Dun gene and are often mislabeled in pedigrees.
