Between the 1880s and 1910s, there were a number of horses with extraordinarily long hair exhibited inside shows. Some of the most famous of these include The Wonder Horses of Oregon, Prince Imperial, White Wings, Linus, and Linus II.

- Mangalarga Marchador The Marchador is a popular breed of riding horse from Brazil. It stands between 14 and 16.2 hands with colors that include gray, Chestnut, buckskin, Palomino, and pinto. It has a deep chest, prominent withers, a triangular head, A straight profile, ears that turn slightly inwards, and a long back and sloping croop. It does not trot. Instead it has a lateral gate called the marcha picada, which is similar to a single foot, and the marcha batida, which is similar to the foxtrot.
