- The Lusitano, the Andalusian, are descended from the old Iberian saddle horses. Named after its country of origin, Lisitania being the Roman name for Portugal. The head is slightly convex with a rounded tapering muzzle. The ears are moderately long, finely sculpted, & mobile; the eyes are almond-shaped, alert & with a bright, deep quality. The nostrils are open & mobile. Neck carried high & is well muscular & well developed. Colors are gray, bay, chestnuts are the most common. Dilutes are seen, including cream , silver and dun.
