References: Two registries exist: American Warmblood Society and Sport Horse Registry- AWSSR and American Warmblood Registry - AWR. The AWS officially changed to AWSSR in 2017 to better serve the growing sport horse community. It also grandfathered horses registered in the Appaloosa Sport Horse Association after it dissolved in 2014. AWSSR is a performance-based registry. Any breeding is allowed as long as the horse exhibits "sport horse type". The AWR tends to favor bloodlines of traditional European Warmbloods. However, they do accept outstanding individuals from other breeds. QH stallion, Raliegh's Full Moon, carries a permanent breeding license with the AWR. Both registries hold inspections and horses are entered into various studbooks based on their evaluations
