The Force Flash Show - Calling All Stars Wars Fans

Tuesday, July 18, 2023 12:45 PM

THE FORCE FLASH SHOW opens for registration this week on July 21, 2023.

The second Flash Show is going to be a little different and will give entrants an opportunity to show their models in a new way. It's an Open Halter show for models with Star Wars franchise inspired names (such as characters, references, or themes). All regular finishes, scales, breeds, crosses and ages (including longears, decorators and equine fantasy models) are welcome. Exclusions are non-typical materials such as metal, glass, etc. No tack unless molded on or permanently attached.

Names can be obvious like Jedi Warrior, Princess Leia, and Millennium Falcon, or not so obvious like This Is The Way, Midi-chlorian, Twelve Parsecs, Jabba's Palace, etc. If a name reference wouldn't be obvious to a typical fan (your judge), we recommend you include a brief explanation of the meaning in the model description or references.

This is an open breeds show, so to save time on entries, participants may want to make a list of models that fit the class criteria in advance in order to use the search function to make the entry process easier. (If you're not sure how to do this, see instructions at the bottom of this post.)

Judging Criteria: Models will be judged on general conformation, finish, condition, photo dynamics and how the model suits the name.

Sections:

THE LIGHT SIDE (for models with "hero/heroine/good guy" character names)

THE DARK SIDE (for models with villain/villainess/bad guy" character names)

A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY (for model names with all other references to the Star Wars franchise universe such as The Force, the Rebellion, ships, planets, stars, places, aliens/creatures, objects, music score, lingo and elements that don't fit other sections/classes)
Choose the best available class that fits your model's name.

Any background is acceptable, but if you want to experiment with Star Wars props or backdrops (as long as model is not obscured or detracted from), it could add some tone or atmosphere to your photo.

The show is FREE to enter. Participants may enter up to 2 models per class. Classes are limited to 25 entries each.

Standard virtual ribbons are awarded to 10th place. Class winners advance to be judged for Section Champion/Reserve. Section Champions are Reserves advance to be judges for Division Champion/Reserve.

HOW TO USE THE MODEL SEARCH FEATURE WHEN ENTERING A CLASS

Since The Force Flash Show is an Open Breeds Show, most models will show as eligible to enter every class. In order to avoid scrolling through a long list of models to make your selections, you may want to follow the steps below.

1) First, make a list of your models with Star Wars franchise related names as a reference to help speed the search process.

2) Click on the class you want to enter.

3) At the bottom of the class, choose "See eligible horses"

4) When the selections come up, look near the top of the page and use your cursor to put a check in the box to the right of where it says "Show ineligible" Then type your model's name into the search box to the right of the check mark. Last, click the icon to the right of the search box that looks like a magnifying glass.

5) This should pull up the specific model you want to enter. Enter the model.

Repeat the process for the next model if you have a second one to enter in the same class.

(Once you get the hang of it, this will go very quickly and save you a lot of time on entries.)

Good luck and have fun!
