A Note about Breeds in Fall Fiesta

Sunday, September 10, 2023 10:06 AMIt never even crossed my mind when creating this show that this would be an issue, but I keep getting messages asking me where this or that breed is in my Fall Fiesta Spanish/Gaited show. So I thought I should make this post in anticipation of further questions (if people happen to read the forum.)
I'd just like to emphasize that I don't mind people asking. I just never anticipated that my choices of whether to include breeds or not would be a source of contention.
This is just the first of a series of free specialties organized by type that I plan to host. I chose to do this because it is much less labor intensive than creating an all-breed show. It's still a lot of work, but I've enjoyed hosting shows here on OMHPS in the past and I wanted to keep contributing to the community.
This is my planned schedule, time permitting:
Fall Fiesta - Gaited/Iberian - currently in progress
Winter Wonderland - Draft/Pony - November/December
Name TBD - Light/Sport - January/February
Name TBD - Stock/NNA/Exotic - March/April
Now, not everyone everywhere agrees on where certain breeds should fall by type (especially the ones that are pony sized but are considered horses), and I'm no different. But for the most part I followed the classification done by OMHPS. So here are the answers for those breeds I've been asked about and where they will be included in those future shows:
Saddlebred - Light
Icelandic - Pony
Galiceno (Gallega/Marchador Galego) - Pony
Warlander - Sport
Marwari - Light
Spanish & Kiger Mustangs - NNA (I did deviate on this one!)
Just one final note - as the show has been approved, I will not be asking the admins to edit it unless there is a major mistake somewhere, not related to breed inclusion. Thank you for your understanding.
Hope this helps, and I hope you will join in my future shows!
